About Me

Chico Masak (May 26, 1985 -) is a part-time activist from Japan, originally born in Ashikaga city. His passport name is Masaki Matsumoto. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at International Christian University. Currently employed as a tutor, a research institute assistant, and a freelance translator and web assistant, he is going to advance to graduate school in 2010. His field of study is sociology of gender, but he’s also studying queer theory and other critical theories (feminism, disability theory and post-colonialism). Director and founder of the Gender-Related Education & Action Team [G.R.E.A.T.].

Research interests: women in poverty, including single mothers, sex workers, survivors of domestic violence; women’s sexual rights; sexual and gender minorities.
